A photo a day keeps the dolldrums away...

Seattle, Seattle how can you hold so many fine fine vintage treasures in one little too-cool-for-school city? I HAD to buy this dress when I found her, despite it's being about four sizes too large for my frame (it's pinned in the back for these photos). There is some discolouring here and there but not enough to counter the overall loveliness and elegance.

Love love love and adore this jacket! Though you can tell the faux was lovely back in it's heyday it's grown a bit wearied over the years; I actually like it that way.

Picked it up for next to nothing at Atlas Clothing (wow, can't believe I remember the name of that shop) back during my Seattle life.

FYI, this antique Kimono was about $20, found at a flea market in a distant Tokyo suburb... Granted these photos are filtered to achieve the storybook effect, but it really is such an elegant piece. Here is the true fabric colour.

The cataloguing of my vintage collection continues with this navy darling. I found her at my local Goodwill..it was love at first sight. Late 70's/80's??? It's quite 1970's Lois Lane.

This meringue-d bed coat was picked up at a farmer's market flea section in Pennsylvania. PA is the BEST for vintage scores; the kind you really have to get down and dirty to find, but it's always worth it!

This is the first of several antique kimonos that I've been meaning to photograph. I'm quite obsessed with kimono silks and always regret not spending more time frequenting flea markets whilst living in Japan, as I imagine I could have had quite a stockpile if I'd been a bit more focused. Kawagoe city is meant to have a fantastic antiques market with an endless array of vintage kimonos for next to nothing. If you get a chance to go GO!!!

A photo a day keeps the dolldrums away...

I just picked this gorgeous Hawaiian number up at a consignment shop in Queens for $12. It's quite large for me but easily remedied with a belt to cinch. I'm swooning for the silhouette and polyester has never felt so elegant to me!

Here's the true colour.

This micro-cord licorice coloured house coat by Styloungers is a dream paired with high-waisted trousers. Yet another Seattle score I've had it in the back of my closet for years with not one wear, tragic! I adore the mandarin buttons! I reckon from the 60's...

Hey! Yet another vintage number.

This navy treasure was made by the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and purchased in Pensylvannia.

It's a little bit Babs...in a good way.

I sported this at a recent fashion week event (see here) cinched with a belt from Goodwill and paired with some Unisa wedges. I heartily believe style needs very little money.

Another labeless Seattle find, this green brocade dress is effortlessly elegant with it's clean lines.

The true colour is a bit hard to capture with my camera and would say it's closer to the filtered photo directly below than the unfiltered photo above. Hmmm...

A photo a day keeps the dolldrums away

This dress i found labeless and unloved in one of my favorite Seattle vintage/antique shops in Fremont. Haven't decided if this one will make it into the shop, as I especially love vintage one offs! Hand sewn items are so special.

BUT...I've had it for years and hardly wear it, so it may be time to move on.

A photo a day keeps the doldrums away

I've been putting off cataloguing my vintage collection for far too long. I'm going to attempt one outfit/accessory a day until it's all been done....at which point I'll FINALLY be ready to post everything on Etsy. Hooray!!!!!

First up, a sassy lil' Oleg Cassini number. I'm not entirely certain that I quite 'got' sequins before this....
